PTI accused of 'looting' Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of looting the province and then leveling corruption allegations against others.

In a strongly worded statement, Governor Kundi criticized KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, alleging that the latter made contradictory statements inside and outside the National Security Council (NSC).

“He remained silent on Afghanistan during the NSC meeting but is now talking about inviting an Afghan delegation,” the governor remarked.

He further stated that significant developments would unfold during the upcoming provincial assembly session on April 4. “Traditionally, the government calls the session through the speaker, but this time, they attempted to create difficulties for the governor,” he said, suggesting that the provincial government had reservations about the speaker’s role.

Governor Kundi reiterated his claims of corruption, saying, “We have been saying they looted the province, and now even their own government is making corruption allegations.” He also took a swipe at PTI leaders, mentioning Senator Azam Swati’s demand for Speaker Babar Saleem Swati’s resignation.

“First, they should resolve their internal divisions before campaigning against the federal government,” he said, comparing PTI’s factionalism to that of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), with one faction in Islamabad and another in KP.
