PESHAWAR: Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information and Broadcasting, Ikhtiar Wali Khan, has strongly criticized PTI founder Imran Khan, claiming that he has become politically irrelevant within his own party.
In a strongly worded statement, Ikhtiar Wali said that “Imran Khan, who once tried to remove Nawaz Sharif from the political landscape, is now facing the same fate himself. Ironically, the very strategy he used against others has now backfired, and he has been sidelined by the leadership of his own party.”
Ikhtiar Wali further pointed out growing internal discontent within the ranks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stating that “a large number of senior PTI leaders are disillusioned and frustrated with the direction Imran Khan has taken the party in. His rigid and confrontational policies have alienated even his most loyal supporters.”
Addressing recent developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), he commented on Imran Khan’s reported instructions to PTI MPAs to oppose the provincial budget. “By advising the KP Assembly not to pass the budget, Imran Khan effectively displayed a lack of trust in his own party’s government. This move not only weakened the provincial administration but also exposed serious rifts within PTI’s leadership,” Wali noted.
He emphasized that the passing of the KP budget despite Imran Khan’s opposition is a clear signal of defiance from within the party ranks. “The KP Assembly, by approving the budget, has sent a strong message — they no longer stand with Imran Khan’s disruptive politics. In reality, they have shown a vote of no confidence in his leadership.”
In his remarks, Ikhtiar Wali said that Imran Khan is now facing the consequences of his past political maneuvers. “This is a classic case of poetic justice. Imran Khan, who built his politics around removing others, has now been removed by his own. His relevance is diminishing rapidly, and even his own party seems to have moved on without him.
