PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Dr. Saif has said that the August 05 protest call given by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will prove to be the last nail in the government’s political coffin. According to him, the government’s panic is clear evidence that it is afraid of public reaction.

In a statement, Barrister Saif said, “The government knows that the people are standing with the PTI, that is why the eligible candidates of the PTI are being disqualified. The only fault of those who were disqualified was that they won on Form 45.”

The Information Advisor alleged that the government and the elements working in its support want to achieve their desired results through Form 47. He said that these measures are a negation of democracy and a transparent electoral process.

Barrister Saif also harshly criticised the Election Commission and said, “Instead of being an impartial institution, the Election Commission is playing the role of the government’s B-team.” He claimed that the people are enthusiastic for the release of Imran Khan and “now the government is no longer able to suppress this struggle.”

He added that this protest was not just of the PTI but was a movement to restore the real mandate and constitutional rights of the people.
