Raja Riffat Mukhtar IG Motorway, made FIA director general

Islamabad: The federal government has announced major changes in the leadership of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), appointing senior police officers to key positions in a bid to enhance the agency’s performance and address emerging challenges.

According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division onFriday , Raja Rifat Mukhtar, a Grade-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and currently serving as Inspector General (IG) of Motorway Police, has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of the FIA.

Meanwhile, Waqaruddin Syed, a Grade-20 PSP officer with extensive experience in cybercrime investigations, has been named the DG of the National Cybercrime Agency. Syed has previously held several important positions within the FIA, bringing a wealth of expertise to his new role.

Official sources stated that the reshuffle aims to strengthen the agency’s operational efficiency and improve its ability to tackle modern challenges, particularly in cybercrime and financial fraud.
