ISLAMABAD: Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev visited the residence of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and held a detailed discussion on regional and international issues.
The visiting Russian Ambassador expressed satisfaction over Pakistan-Russia relations and the role played by both countries in the Iran-Israel war. He also expressed regret over the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine and Gaza. Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s appeal to Russia to intervene and play a role in the evacuation of Gaza’s injured citizens and the restoration of peace in Palestine.
Russian Ambassador assures to play role in a ceasefire in Gaza and pledged that Russia would play its role to stop the expulsion of Gazans from its territory. Maulana Fazlur Rehman appreciated the Russian government’s initiative to recognise the Afghan government.
JUI-F Chief also stressed for an international conference under the title of Asia-Europe Security for the resolution of mutual disputes and said that it is need of time to hold such types of discussion for world peace. The Russian Ambassador paid tribute to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s struggle against the colonial system.
Russia and JUI-F are united and will struggle against the imperialism. He said there is a dire need for a security agreement to mantain mutual relations and protect mutual interests. Later, Maulana Fazlur Rehman hosted a dinner in honour of the Russian Ambassador.
