ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader Salman Akram Raja has dismissed rumors of a forward bloc forming within the party, stating that all members remain loyal to the party’s founder.
Speaking to a private tv channel, Raja emphasized that those currently in PTI consider it an honor to be associated with the party and would not betray its leadership. He referenced High Court rulings affirming their legal right to meet the incarcerated PTI founder, adding that consultations within the party were routine and decisions were made collectively.
Addressing speculation about internal conflicts, Raja clarified that while some individuals sought greater visibility, there was no discord within PTI ranks. He revealed that the founder personally guides party affairs, including meetings with legal teams—such as Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas for jail matters and Salman Safdar for criminal cases—while Raja himself remains involved in constitutional matters.
Regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s position, Raja stated that the PTI founder had assured him of Gandapur’s stability, dismissing rumors of his replacement. “Ali Amin Gandapur enjoys the full confidence of the party leadership,” he asserted.
On political alliances, Raja confirmed PTI’s ongoing efforts to forge a coalition with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), revealing that significant progress had been made. “A major alliance is in the works, and the founder has directed continued engagement with JUI,” he said.
