The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf workers in Peshawar staged a rally against the decision to neglect Irfan Saleem in the Senate candidates.
Workers are outraged at the decision to ignore Imran Khan’s loyal and dedicated colleague, Irfan Saleem, in the upcoming Senate election. They believe this is unacceptable under any circumstances.
Irfan Saleem’s name was personally approved by Imran Khan for the Senate election, according to the workers. Following a meeting with Imran Khan, Aleema Khan clarified that the chairman has instructed the leadership to finalise the candidate in consultation with party members. Aleema Khan’s statement from last night has also been corroborated by Imran Khan’s official account on X.
Barrister Saif has claimed that the names of “special personalities” were approved after meeting Imran Khan in jail, which has led to confusion. Workers point out a clear contradiction between the statements made by Aleema Khan and Barrister Saif.
Many believe that Irfan Saleem was excluded from the Senate elections as part of a well-planned conspiracy. Workers are questioning the message being sent by disregarding loyal party members and awarding tickets to those with capitalist backgrounds.
Both journalists and workers recognise Irfan Saleem’s sacrifices for the party, voicing their discontent over closed-door decisions being imposed on them.
