LANDIKOTAl: Frustrated locals, mostly youth, staged a protest in tribal district Khyber, Tehsil Landikotal, against the persistently poor mobile network and internet services that have plagued the area for months.
Protesters highlighted that weak signals and frequent outages have severely disrupted daily life, particularly affecting students who rely on online classes. “We only get about six hours of internet in a full day,” one demonstrator said. “Despite repeated complaints to the Landikotal administration and telecom companies, no action has been taken.”
Residents also pointed out that a private cellular tower in Nikikhel remains non-functional, shutting down every hour. Efforts to contact the regional manager of the concerned telecom franchise yielded no resolution.
Warning of further action, protesters threatened to block the Pak-Afghan highway if authorities fail to address the issue immediately.
