Swabi ; After a prolonged dry season, the water level in Tarbela Dam has risen significantly due to recent rainfall. According to the dam’s spokesperson, the water storage has increased by 18 feet above the dead level of 1402 feet, reaching 1420.47 feet. The dam’s maximum storage capacity is 1550 feet.
Currently, the inflow of water into the dam is 39,300 cusecs, while the outflow is being maintained at 20,000 cusecs.

On the power generation front, only 7 out of 17 power units are operational, producing 410 MW of electricity. The remaining 10 units remain closed. When fully operational, Tarbela Dam’s power house can generate up to 4,888 MW of electricity.
The recent rains have provided much-needed relief after the dam had nearly reached dead storage levels during the dry spell. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to manage water release and power generation efficiently.
