RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry strongly condemned India’s recent missile strikes, describing them as a “cowardly act” that led to the martyrdom of 31 Pakistani civilians and injuries to 57 others.
The army’s spokesperson briefed the media on Wednesday on the latest situation on India’s attack on Pakistan.
“Our adversary lacks the courage to face our armed forces directly, so instead, it targets unarmed civilians and residential areas under the cover of darkness,” he said.
He noted that these actions reflect India’s growing desperation, marking a shift from backing proxy elements to launching direct acts of military aggression.
“When we dismantled their terror networks, India resorted to using its own forces to carry out acts of terror,” he remarked. “If targeting innocent civilians and children isn’t terrorism, then what is?”
31 civilians embraced martyrdom, 57 injured
DG ISPR confirmed that 31 innocent civilians have so far embraced martyrdom while 57 have been injured in cowardly attacks of India on Pakistan.
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry showed pictures and videos of innocent children who were killed by Indian attacks on Pakistan last night.
He also showed how mosques, places of worship, and the copies of Holy Quran were desecrated and destroyed in the missiles shot by India on civilians in Pakistan.
India promoting terrorism in Pakistan through proxies
India directly launched terrorist attacks in Pakistan yesterday using its army when Pakistan started to tighten the noose around India’s proxies like BLA in Balochistan which have been involved in orchestrating terrorism inside Pakistan at the behest of India, DG ISPR stated.
DG ISPR also confirmed Pakistan Army has suffered neither any combat casualty yet nor Pakistan Air Force has received damage to any of its aircraft. On the other hand, Indian Army and Indian Air Force jets have been decimated with full might.
Pakistan to exercise its right to self-defence when necessary
During the press briefing, DG ISPR reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to defend itself against any form of aggression, asserting that the country reserves the right to respond in self-defense whenever required.
He emphasized that the safety of Pakistan’s citizens and the sanctity of its territorial integrity are absolute and non-negotiable, declaring, “There will be no compromise on the protection of our people or our sovereignty.”
Highlighting serious legal concerns, he stated that India’s deliberate targeting of civilian populations and water infrastructure represents a blatant violation of international law, particularly the Geneva Conventions.
“The Geneva Conventions clearly prohibit attacks on civilians and essential infrastructure such as dams. India’s actions have violated fundamental principles of international humanitarian law,” he said.
DG ISPR also announced that Pakistan government has authorized Pakistan’s armed forces to avenge India’s strikes in Pakistan and loss of innocent lives at the time and place of its own choosing.
He also praised the strong bond between the nation and its armed forces, saying, “Our soldiers draw strength from the nation’s support, and the people have complete trust in their military. Together, we stand united against all threats.”
