Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s high-profile meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House concluded positively, with both leaders discussing regional stability and trade cooperation.

President Trump hosted a formal luncheon in the Cabinet Room to honor Field Marshal Munir. Speaking to the media afterward, Trump expressed appreciation for the Pakistani military leader’s role in preventing conflict in South Asia.

“I had the honor of meeting Field Marshal Asim Munir today,” Trump said. “Pakistan and India are both nuclear powers, and thanks to his efforts, we avoided war.” He added that Munir was invited to the White House as a gesture of gratitude for his peacekeeping role.

The US President also revealed that negotiations for a new trade agreement with Pakistan are underway, signaling stronger economic ties.

Before departing, Field Marshal Munir is scheduled to hold additional meetings with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pat Hegseth to further discuss defense and diplomatic collaboration.

The visit underscores Pakistan’s pivotal role in regional stability and its growing partnership with the United States.
