Two people died in the rain-related incidents in the parts of Karak district here on Sunday night.

Torrential rains wreaked havoc in Malagi Banda, a suburb of Karak district. According to the locals, two people were swept away in the water due to overflowing rivers and canals, while dozens of livestock were also drowned.

According to details, heavy rains and hailstorms disrupted life in the area. The local population faced loss of life and property due to the overflow. According to the residents of the area, the rain was so heavy that the rivers and canals turned into floods in an instant.

Sources say that the wheat crop has been completely destroyed due to the hailstorm and rain. Local farmers said that this was the crop on which they depended all year round, and due to its destruction, they had to bear losses worth lakhs of rupees.

According to rescue sources, the search for the two people who were swept away is ongoing, while local people are also participating in the relief operations on their own. Severe weather conditions are still prevailing in the area, which poses a risk of further damage.

The district administration has issued instructions to intensify rescue operations in the affected areas, and an alert has been issued because of possible dangers.
