SHANGLA: Two coalminers, who died in a mine incident at Akhorwal area of Dara Adam Khel the other day, were laid to rest in their ancestral graveyard here on Friday afternoon.
According to local two young coalminer had stranded in Haji Ilyas coalmine at Akhorwal area of Dara Adam Khel, Kohat region after a portion of the mine collapsed on them, burying both workers underneath of coal debris.
“The rescue operation for the coalminer recovery had been continued for over 36 hours under the supervision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspectorate of mines, and both bodies were pulled out from the mine,” He said
He said both deceased miners were young and relatives.
The local resident said the dead bodies of the miners were brought to Guli Butt area of Alpuri tehsil on Friday morning and later they were laid to rest at their ancestral graveyard.
According to media reports, 250 to 300 casualties were reported from the coalmines everywhere, of which 70 percent are hailing from the parts of Shangla.
He accused the mine owner and supervisor of most incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
