Chicken prices drop in Peshawar and major Cities ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

PESHAWAR: Just before Eid-ul-Azha, the price of chicken has dropped significantly in three major cities: Peshawar, Lahore, and Multan.

Peshawar

Chicken is now Rs 15 cheaper. The official price for live chicken is set at Rs 380 per kg, down from Rs 420 per kg just two days ago.

Lahore

Prices have fallen by Rs 10. The wholesale rate for live broiler chicken is now Rs 359 per kg, and the retail rate is Rs 373 per kg. This is a decrease from the previous day’s wholesale rate of Rs 369/kg and retail rate of Rs 383/kg. However, the price of eggs has risen slightly by Rs 1, now fixed at Rs 311 per dozen.

Multan

The city saw the largest decrease, with chicken prices dropping by Rs 25 per kg. Today’s wholesale rate is fixed at Rs 304 per kg, and the retail rate at Rs 318 per kg. Yesterday, the rates were significantly higher at Rs 329/kg wholesale and Rs 343/kg retail.
