PARACHINAR: A Joint Board of Officers (BOO), comprising officials from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) and Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL), visited Parachinar Airport to assess its operational feasibility for flights carrying relief goods and passengers.
The eight-member committee, formed on the instructions of the Ministry of Defence, included six officers from PAA and two from PIACL.
The team was led by Additional Director Operations (IIAP) Younis Luqman Qazi, with Deputy APM (BKIAP) Mohsin Ahmed Ghauri and Senior JTO CNS (BKIAP) Engineer Shah Jahan among its members.
During the visit, the committee conducted a thorough inspection of the airport’s infrastructure, including the terminal building, runway, fire garage, PAA accommodations, generator room, and other operational facilities.
Following the inspection, the BOO members met with the Deputy Commissioner of Parachinar to discuss the potential resumption of operations at the airport.
According to a PAA statement, the findings from the inspection will be compiled into a feasibility report.

This report will serve as the foundation for future decisions regarding the reactivation of Parachinar Airport for both commercial and humanitarian purposes.
The statement also emphasized PAA’s commitment to enhancing air connectivity across Pakistan.
No timeline was provided for when the airport might resume operations, but the assessment marks a significant step toward reopening the facility to support regional transportation and relief efforts.
