“Fine the rich, warn the poor” – KP CM’s new traffic policy

PESHAWAR:  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has directed traffic police to show compassion toward low-income workers by issuing warnings instead of fines for minor violations.

Speaking on traffic enforcement policies, Gandapur emphasized that daily wage earners struggle to afford heavy penalties, while wealthy and influential violators should face stricter fines for breaking rules.

The CM stressed that big vehicles owned by powerful individuals often disregard traffic laws but escape consequences, whereas poor laborers suffer disproportionately. He urged authorities to balance enforcement by being more lenient with the poor and stricter with the privileged.
