Free medical camps held in Chitral

CHITRAL: The Aid International in collaboration with the 144 wing of Chitral Scouts organised free medical camps in Arkari Valley and Gabor Valley (Garm Chashma) here in Chitral.

According to the statement, the camps were set up in the remotest and coldest areas of Pakistan, where health facilities are non-existent.

A team of expert doctors, including medical specialists, gynaecologists, eye specialists, physiotherapists and general physicians, served in the camps. Around 2000 patients were provided free treatment, medical check-ups, medicines and medical counselling, while needy patients were also given guidance for further treatment.

Slates and whiteboards were also distributed to local schoolchildren during the camp to promote educational activities.

Commandant Colonel Bilal (Chitral Scouts) and Wing Commander Lieutenant Colonel Amir paid a special visit to the medical camp and appreciated the hard work of the Aid International team.

He said that such initiatives were important for improving health facilities in remote areas and such medical camps would be continued in future in collaboration with Aid International.

Rehman Badshah, CEO of Aid International, said that providing medical facilities in harsh weather conditions like Chitral was a certain challenge, however, his team overcame every difficulty with the spirit of public service.

These successful medical camps are the result of the commitment of Aid International, the cooperation of Chitral Scouts and the tireless work of doctors, who ensured public service in the severe cold during Ramazan.
