Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed passed away on Wednesday late night after a protracted illness, his son Munir Ahmed confirmed.
According to his son, Munir Ahmad, his father had been suffering from kidney disease for a long time.
His son said an announcement regarding the JUI-F leader’s funeral prayer and burial will be made later.
Hafiz Hussain Ahmad was a prominent leader of the JUI-F and remained an active politician who used to take part in the party’s major rallies before retiring from formal politics.
As posted on social media, the JUI-F chief, Maulana Fazal Rehman extended his condolences on the demise of the party leader, saying he is saddened to hear this news as Hafiz Hussain Ahmad was a key politician and religious leader.
