ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned the public to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight as it issued an advisory regarding a possible heat wave across the country from April 22 to 27
According to the advisory, the weather is likely to remain dry and hot in most parts of the country and it may harm the health of the masses if they did not follow precautionary measures in this regard.
The weather is likely to remain dry and temperatures are likely to remain significantly higher than normal in the provinces of Balochistan and Sindh during the week.
The weather is likely to remain hot in most areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
However, rain is likely in various parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and a few districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
NDMA predicted that partly cloudy skies with rain are expected in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Abbottabad, Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Kohat, Kohistan, Mohmand, Nowshera, Peshawar, Swat and Waziristan districts.
NDMA is continuing to monitor the situation through its National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC).
NDMA has urged the public to be aware of weather updates before travelling.

Earlier in the last week, Islamabad witnessed a record hailstorm which destroyed dozens of vehicles and houses, worth millions of rupees in damages.
