NDMA launches documentary series to create awareness about climate change

PESHAWAR: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a high-alert travel advisory for several regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), warning of severe weather conditions expected within the next 12 hours.

Forecasts indicate intense rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hailstorms across multiple districts, including Malakand Division, Hazara Division, Bannu, Charsadda, Karak, Khyber, Kohat, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Mardan, Nowshera, Orakzai, Peshawar, Swabi, and Waziristan.

The NDMA cautions that these severe weather conditions may lead to flash floods, landslides, and infrastructure damage. Residents, particularly those in low-lying and mountainous areas, are advised to exercise extreme caution. Motorists should verify road conditions before traveling, as heavy rains could block key routes and disrupt transportation.

Emergency response teams have been placed on high alert, and the public is instructed to follow updates from local disaster management authorities. Adherence to safety guidelines is critical to minimizing risks and ensuring public safety during this extreme weather event.
