Pakistan observes ‘Youm-e-Tashakkur’ to honour armed forces and national unity

Celebration rallies held across KP to honour armed forces for Bunyan-un-Marsoos operation

Pakistan is observing “Youm-e-Tashakkur” (Thanksgiving Day) today, following an announcement by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The day marks the nation’s gratitude for the successful response to recent aggression from India and the achievements of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
Rallies were held across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where people gathered in different cities and expressed satisfaction with the Pakistan Army’s performance, while paying tribute to the armed forces. 

The events were held in Abbottabad, Shangla, Bajaur, Swat, Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Mansehra, Battagram and other districts of the province.

In an official statement, the Prime Minister said the occasion is meant to offer thanks to Almighty Allah, pay tribute to the extraordinary courage of the Pakistan Armed Forces, and recognise the unity and resilience demonstrated by the Pakistani people.

According to Radio Pakistan, PM Shehbaz urged the nation, especially religious leaders and scholars, —to hold special prayers across the country in remembrance of the martyrs and in honour of serving soldiers.

A significant demonstration took place at GPO Chowk in Murree, where a large crowd gathered to express solidarity with the military, reported PTV News. Citizens from all segments of society joined the event, raising patriotic slogans such as “Long live Pakistan!” and “Long live Pakistan Army!” in a powerful display of national pride.
