ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has introduced special Eid trains and a 20 percent fare discount to facilitate passengers traveling during the holiday season. The initiative, implemented on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, aims to make train travel more affordable and convenient for citizens reuniting with their families.
The first special train departed on March 26 from Quetta to Karachi, comprising 16 coaches and making stops at Hyderabad, Rohri, Multan, and Sahiwal. On the same day, a second train with 11 coaches left Quetta for Peshawar Cantonment, traveling via Multan and Sahiwal.
A third special train is scheduled to depart from Lahore to Karachi on March 27, with 16 coaches and stops at Khanewal, Multan, Sahiwal, and Rohri.

In addition to the special services, Pakistan Railways has announced a 20 percent discount on fares across all classes for mail, express, passenger, and intercity trains during the first three days of Eid.
A spokesperson stated that the government is committed to providing safe, comfortable, and affordable travel options for the public, ensuring smoother journeys during the festive period.
