Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended warm greetings to Pakistanis on March 23, marking the nation’s annual celebration of Pakistan Day. In a message commemorating the occasion, he emphasized the country’s immense potential to achieve economic prosperity and secure its rightful place on the global stage.
“Heartfelt greetings to all Pakistanis on this momentous day of national celebration,” Sharif said. He reflected on the historical significance of March 23, noting it as a pivotal moment in the history of South Asia’s Muslims.
“Eighty-five years ago, on March 23rd, the visionary Muslim leadership of the subcontinent united with an unwavering resolve to lay the foundation for an independent homeland,” he stated. Sharif credited Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s inspiring leadership for envisioning a state where Muslims could live with dignity, freedom, and self-respect.

The prime minister highlighted the Lahore Resolution of 1940 as the cornerstone of this vision, which culminated in Pakistan’s independence on August 14, 1947. “Pakistan emerged as an independent nation, a testament to the unyielding spirit, perseverance, and sacrifices of our forefathers,” he said.
Sharif acknowledged Pakistan’s remarkable journey, from an emerging nation to a nuclear power, but stressed that the work is far from over. “It will take steadfast will, tireless effort, and a collective vision to transform Pakistan into the nation envisioned by our founding father, Muhammad Ali Jinnah,” he added.
Praising the nation’s defenders, Sharif said, “Our armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and security personnel continue to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and stability with great valor.” He paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to ensure the nation’s strength and unity.
