PMD predicts heavy rainfall across Pakistan from Sept 7 to 9

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in various parts of the country between September 7 and 9.

PMD informed that a strong westerly weather system is expected to enter Sindh from Rajasthan on September 6. As a result, heavy downpours are likely in districts including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad.

Similarly, other districts of Sindh including Sujawal, Dadu, Sukkur, Larkana, and Jacobabad may also experience heavy rain during this period.

Meanwhile, in Punjab, rain is forecast from September 6 to 8, with the possibility of isolated heavy showers in some areas. Cities like Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, and Multan are expected to receive rainfall.

PMD also predicted rain in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, and Chakwal.

Balochistan and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also likely to receive rainfall between September 7 and 9. In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, heavy showers are expected in Poonch, Bagh, Mirpur, and Kotli.

The PMD has warned that due to heavy rain, low-lying areas of Sindh could face urban flooding. In Punjab, already flood-affected regions may see worsening conditions.
