FIA arrests suspect over involvement in Hawala Hundi in Abbottabad

 

ABOTTABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) composite circle Abbottabad arrested a person involved in Hawala hundi and illegal currency exchange here on Thursday.

According to the FIA ​​spokesperson, the arrested suspect was identified as Abdullah Shah, who was arrested from Battagram Bazaar. During the investigation, it was found that the suspect was doing Hawala hundi and illegal currency business under the guise of a clothing shop.

During the operation, FIA officials recovered 223,000 Pakistani rupees and 700 Dirhams and other foreign currency from the possession of the suspect.

In addition, evidence related to Hawala Hundi was also recovered.

According to the officials, the suspect was involved in illegal currency exchange without a license and could not provide any satisfactory explanation regarding the recovered currency.

After the arrest, an investigation was initiated against the suspect and further revelation is expected. The FIA ​​has also indicated strict action against other elements involved in illegal financial transactions.
